Seattle has Hottest Day Ever!
Well, since records have been kept, 1891. It hit 102 today. That’s historic indeed! Here’s the full story. Here’s an excerpt:
The previous all-time record high was 100 degrees and was set on July 20, 1994, at Sea-Tac Airport and on July 16, 1941, when records were kept downtown at the Federal Building. Weather records for Seattle began in 1891.
The average high temperature on this date is 76 degrees.
One reason it’s so hot is persistant high pressure over the West. That is being balanced out by the unusually cold Summer in the Midwest and Northeast. Another reason could be your committment to Flatulant Friday’s! Thank you for warming things up around here!
Don’t worry about the folks in the Pacific Northwest. They have a lot of cool rivers, lakes and streams to jump into to cool off.

Another compilation of facts that global warming alarmists will dismiss out of hand no doubt. However, you and I know that this is just another list of reasons why we must do everything we can to warm up a cooling planet! Too bad it’s the Sun driving these changes. Maybe we can heat up the Sun or add a new one!? hmmmmm.

In fact, the fall in temperatures from just 2002 has already wiped out half the warming our planet experienced last century. (Check data from Britain’s Hadley Centre, NASA’s Aqua satellite and the US National Climatic Data Centre.)”

“The British Antarctic Survey, working with NASA, last week confirmed ice around Antarctica has grown 100,000 sq km each decade for the past 30 years.
Long-term monitoring by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reports the same: southern hemisphere ice has been expanding for decades.
As for the Arctic, wrong again.
The Arctic ice cap shrank badly two summers ago after years of steady decline, but has since largely recovered. Satellite data from NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Centre this week shows the Arctic hasn’t had this much April ice for at least seven years.”

Flatulant Friday’s Not so Crazy After All!
One sometimes wonders what is going on in those brilliant scientific minds. When we were in school science was our favorite subject. Looks like we would have had a chance! Microbe flatulence could power the fuel cells of the future! Check it:
It sounds like a gag gift instead of serious science, but a new electrical farting machine could improve fuel cell technology by turning C02 in the atmosphere into methane.
Hey, you can’t make this stuff up! (actually we’ve been writing about it for years) We never thought we’d live to see the dream realized. We love science!
Setback: EPA Rules CO2 = Pollution
This is a dangerous ruling indeed. Not only is it likely to lead to higher energy prices even if Congress defeats Cap and Trade, but it means that our government agencies are committed to cooling off the planet when it’s already cooling off! This is anecdotal evidence, sure, but Las Vegas just had their latest ever recorded snowfall!
The last time snow fell in Las Vegas in April was on April 4,1958, making Wednesday’s activity the latest snow sighting recorded to date.
This is the same Spring storm that has paralyzed parts of Colorado and Wyoming with FEET of snow.
Snowfall of 3 to 5 feet has been recorded in the Front Range mountains and foothills with 1 to 3 feet of snow in the higher terrain of Douglas and Elbert Counties.
This has been a very long Winter for much of North America. Cap and Trade legislation, or EPA regulation is exactly the wrong way to go with so much snow and ice on the planet!

Cap & Trade Dealt Serious Blow in Senate!
This is great news as recounted on our favorite blog (besides this one, of course) HotAir.com.
If Cap & Trade manages to become law of the land, not only would energy costs skyrocket during deep recession, CO2 emissions would be cut back. Now it’s true, the Sun drives 99.9999999999999999999999999% of our climate (or there abouts), but in the off chance that so-called greenhouse gases have a slight affect, we need to make sure that we keep our freedom to Flatulent Friday‘s, Rabbit Starts and even Hyperventilating.
Sure, It’s the Sun, but We WON’T Give Up!
How low will it go?!
Discouraging news this morning from NASA.
It adds up to one inescapable conclusion: “We’re experiencing a very deep solar minimum,” says solar physicist Dean Pesnell of the Goddard Space Flight Center.
“This is the quietest sun we’ve seen in almost a century,” agrees sunspot expert David Hathaway of the Marshall Space Flight Center.
Seems the Sun is the quietest it has been in decades. Anyone who has ever taken a meteorology class knows that weather on planet Earth is driven by the Sun. It’s very unlikely that increasing CO2 in the atmosphere is making a difference in warming (CO2 is less than 1/2 of 1/2 of 1/2 of a percent of our atmosphere) we must not give up hope! NASA says that the weaker Suns rays aren’t enough to counter “Global Warming.” No explanation of the cooling we’ve had since the Sun’s rays have weakened, but that’s OK. It gives us hope that we CAN warm up the planet!
Together, by hyperventilating, rabbit starting our SUVs and Flatulent Friday’s we can warm things up… hopefully. Maybe.
Going Green May Cost Jobs and Won’t Warm the Planet
Here’s a surprise. Seems that going with green energy may cost more jobs than it’ll create. I know, I know, President Obama has promised that investing billions in new green technologies will create millions of jobs. Looks like he may have left out one minor detail. That where it’s been tried, green technology has also cost jobs. Like twice as many as it has created! Here’s the article from Bloomberg.com, and here’s an excerpt:
Subsidizing renewable energy in the U.S. may destroy two jobs for every one created if Spain’s experience with windmills and solar farms is any guide.
For every new position that depends on energy price supports, at least 2.2 jobs in other industries will disappear, according to a study from King Juan Carlos University in Madrid.
The worst part according to us here at Stop Global Cooling Now dot com is that going green does NOTHING to warm the planet. Of course it’s hard to show how increasing CO2 in the atmosphere would have any warming affect at all. CO2 is just a smal percent of a percent of the overall make up of our planets atmosphere. Man’s contribution to that is just a smal percent. Still, we can’t give up hope! Think of the children! If this current cooling trend continues then they will have very little Summer to enjoy with their friends. We for one will fight before we let that happen! The next Flatulent Friday is only days away. Won’t you emit some methane for future generations?!

Here’s how it works. Every Friday, all day Friday, you are encouraged to pass gas. The wonderful Methane that you emit is much more powerful that mere CO2 when it comes to warming the planet. Perhaps the whole world will start tooting the same tune and we can start warming things up around here!
So grab a can of chili or serve up an extra helping of pinto beans. The gas you pass may save the world from a frozen fate! Let ‘er rip!
Our Voices MUST be Heard!
The debate on Global Warming is NOT over. Check this out from DailyTech.com. Seems that an organization representing 50,000 physicists disagrees with the UN’s IPCC report. Not only that, but this:
In an email to DailyTech, Monckton says, “I was dismayed to discover that the IPCC’s 2001 and 2007 reports did not devote chapters to the central ‘climate sensitivity’ question, and did not explain in proper, systematic detail the methods by which they evaluated it. When I began to investigate, it seemed that the IPCC was deliberately concealing and obscuring its method.”
The conclusion?
Monckton, who was the science advisor to Britain’s Thatcher administration, says natural variability is the cause of most of the Earth’s recent warming. “In the past 70 years the Sun was more active than at almost any other time in the past 11,400 years … Mars, Jupiter, Neptune’s largest moon, and Pluto warmed at the same time as Earth.”
We MUST get government to reverse it’s dangerous policy of fighting global warming. They risk the risk of aiding the current cooling trend and helping to spiral us into a frozen abyss! (I love mixing metaphors)

Greenhouse “Gas”
Fill 'er up!
People are crazy. This is what it’s come to. I wrote about this months before but it was in the news again today. Seems that the livestock in New Zealand “emit” 90% of that countries methane! Now THAT is greenhouse GAS!
GREAT news. Scientists may have found a way to cut down on these offensive emissions! From the article:
“Our agricultural research organisation just last week was able to map the genome … that causes methane in ruminant animals and we believe we can vaccinate against (that),” Phil Goff told a conference in Paris.
For us, they are going about this all in the wrong way. If some farm animals (most, we guess) are releasing all of this gas, why not capture it and solve some of our energy problems? Gas-o-line is almost $4 a gallon with predictions of higher prices in the future. Why can’t we develop the cow chip engine? Running low on fuel? Head to a rural area and crumble some “chips” into your tank and you are back on the road!
Really. It’s a time who’s solution has come. or the other way around.
