The Institute of Physics Questions Integrity of Climate Science

HotAir.com has all the highlights.   The British Parliament is investigating the meaning of the East Anglia CRU e-mails and has been asking for input from the science community.  The input from the Institute of Physics isn’t kind in it’s assessment of the kind of “science” being conducted by many in the climate science field.  Here are just a couple of their points (emphasis Ed Morrissey of HotAir):

1. The Institute is concerned that, unless the disclosed e-mails are proved to be forgeries or adaptations, worrying implications arise for the integrity of scientific research in this field and for the credibility of the scientific method as practised in this context.

2. The CRU e-mails as published on the internet provide prima facie evidence of determined and co-ordinated refusals to comply with honourable scientific traditions and freedom of information law. The principle that scientists should be willing to expose their ideas and results to independent testing and replication by others, which requires the open exchange of data, procedures and materials, is vital. The lack of compliance has been confirmed by the findings of the Information Commissioner. This extends well beyond the CRU itself – most of the e-mails were exchanged with researchers in a number of other international institutions who are also involved in the formulation of the IPCC’s conclusions on climate change.

The Institute of Physics is not only critical of the researchers at East Anglia, but are asking questions of everyone involved with the IPCC report.  There is a lot of investigation to be done, but it appears that in order to reach the desired IPCC conclusions, actual science has been sacrificed.  One wonders how their reputations can be returned and how that process might happen.

Of course the American media continues to do it’s best to ignore this story.  I wonder how long it will take for MSNBC, NBC, The Weather Channel, the New York Times and others to get their credibility back.

Follow the link and read more.  It’s even more disconcerting, especially when you consider that the U.N. and the Obama Administration are determined to tax energy in efforts to save the planet from warming too much.  The redistribution of wealth and power based on suspect science?  It appears that is the case.  Even in the face of these developments the EPA continues to push for regulations that would devastate the economy for no other reason than separate Americans from their money.

Snowman Mike Talks Texas and Moscow Snow

Record Snow in Moscow, Dallas Hit with MORE Snow

Let’s start with Texas, because it’s not just Dallas.  Midland/Odessa and south to Marfa is getting snow this morning.  It’s snowing in San Angelo and Abilene.  Waco is expecting snow.  These are areas that rarely see snow and some are having a second or third round this winter (as AccuWeather predicted).  Dallas only needs 2 inches from this storm to break their all-time record.

All of this southern snow has more to do with El Nino than global cooling, but if global warming were really real, and snow is going to be a “rare and exciting event,” wouldn’t all of this snow be falling as rain??

Meanwhile, even cold places are cold and snowy by their standards.  Moscow has 2 feet of snow on the ground.  Apparently that is a lot even for them.

EPA Promises to Proceed with “Cap & Trade” Type Regulation

There is so much here, and much of it is upsetting.

The good news is, Senator James Inhofe of Oklahoma is fighting the administration at every turn.  Today in a Senate hearing, Senator Inhofe plans on exposing the scandals surrounding the IPCC again, even calling for criminal investigations.  Ed Morrissey of HotAir.com (CPACs Blogger of the Year!) has an exclusive interview with Senator Inhofe that is must see internet “TV.”

However, one part of Ed’s written intro has me concerned (emphasis mine):

I should add that just before our interview last night, two administrators from the EPA arrived at Inhofe’s Senate office just before me. Inhofe later told me that the pair informed him that they wanted to proceed full steam ahead with their endangerment finding and the enforcement efforts they had planned. Inhofe expressed surprise that the EPA hadn’t reconsidered its position after the exposure of the IPCC’s incompetence and potential fraud — and he plans to demand answers from Jackson today.

Wow! The nerve of some administrations.  Senator Inhofe talks about this in part two of Ed’s interview.  This administration is still planning on moving ahead with Cap & Trade regulation without the consent of Congress or the American people!  Go to about 1:15 in of the part 2 interview for the details.  Keep listening through the 3 minute mark as Senator Inhofe explains why he thinks the U.N. is looking for a source of funding via Cap & Trade and how the administration is still planning an end around.

Listen to the whole thing.  You’ll be glad you did.

Meanwhile, Pajamas Media had an excellent article yesterday on how Climategate is big news everywhere in the world except in the U.S.

Snow in all 50 states!

Almost.  Florida is the only state without snow on the ground and 2-4″ is forecast today for parts of the panhandle.  In regards to yesterday’s article that the blizzards in the mid-Atlantic don’t prove that global warming is dead, can a record foot of snow falling yesterday in Dallas, snow in Jackson, Mississippi and much of Louisiana into north Florida help strengthen the case?

A student in Oklahoma is collecting pictures of snow on the ground in all 50 states.  Not sure if that’s ever been possible before today, but if so, I imagine it’s a rare occurrence.

Meanwhile, Rome, Italy was hit with their biggest snow in 25 years.  Add to that the coldest, snowiest Winter in decades across much of Europe, especially the U.K. and I wonder… how’s that man-made global warming working for you?
